Recently, she was selected for the «Akademie Musiktheater Heute» program in the directing category and became a finalist in the RING AWARD 2025. //Before moving to Germany she studied at the State Theatre Institute (GITIS) in Moscow and the Moscow International Film School, with a background in violin and piano. She also has assisted at Komische Oper Berlin, Bregenzer Festspiele, Münchener Biennale, and Tiroler Festspiele. Her productions include Carl Orff’s Der Mond at the State Opera Yakutsk (First Prize, Onegin Opera Awards) and the world premieres of Leon Zmelty and Sören Sarbeck’s Einladung zur Enthauptung and Chin-Hsien Chung’s VOCI at Staatstheater Kassel. Maria works across opera, drama, performance, installations, and cabaret, collaborating with contemporary composers and exploring hybrid forms. Her work focuses on the fragility and contradictions of human nature, nostalgia, and identity, seeking to create theatre that is both politically and poetically engaged. For her, the stage is a space for dialogue, where one can reflect and develop empathy.
